Twitter is one of the oldest social media platforms, started in 2006. At that time, you could share your thoughts as long as you limit your characters to 140. Thus, you must be creative to come up with short but catchy takes. You can also follow other public figures and celebrities and contribute to the conversation. Tweeting and retweeting have become great ways to amplify a message you are passionate about. However, today, the platform has extended it to up to 280 characters per tweet, and photos and videos can already be shared. In 2020 it went through one of its biggest updates by coming up with something that became known as a Twitter fleet, where the photos and videos you share will disappear after 24 hours. In other platforms, however, this is known as Stories. This is a great way to share something on Twitter that does not have to stay forever on their profile. In 2011 it began as a messaging platform for sending messages to your friends, and then the message will disappear after looking at it once. This was the unique thing about Snapchat that made it so popular with the younger generation since it was a feature no one else had.Snapchat also has realistic filters when recording yourself on camera or taking selfies. You can put on a mustache, a big, funny hat, and even turn yourself into a baby! There were a lot of funny and cool things to play around with that eventually turned into a full-blown social media platform. In 2020 it introduced Spotlight for sharing videos in a vertical format which lasted around 15 seconds. Other platforms on social media have their version of this as well.Reddit[caption id="attachment_11172" align="alignnone" width="1024"] Businesses will benefit from Reddit because many people come here to ask about potential purchases, air complaints about products or services, and other things you want to watch out for as an entrepreneur.[/caption]At number 7 is Reddit, with over 430 million active monthly users, which has been around since 2005. It used to be just an internet forum mainly for sharing content and could be used anonymously. Just create a personal profile, read the latest posts, share comments, and create your own posts. When you have a Reddit account, your posts could be text, photo, or video-based. They could also be link-based, meaning you share another website using your Reddit page. The way Reddit works is through its upvote and downvote system. When a post is created on the platform, people can either upvote or downvote. So the one with the most upvote wiggles up to the top of Reddit, which was called the front page of the internet since the most popular post will move up to the front page. It was something to be super proud of if you made it to the top. Reddit is made up of hundreds of thousands of communities known as subreddits. So it doesn't matter what your interest is. You can go to reddit.com and search for it. What are the top 20 social media sites? This social network has been around since 2010, so it's also one of the oldest members of this group. It's like a digital scrapbook where you create a profile or a board for yourself. Think of it like a folder on your computer. Within that board are different items called pins. You can make boards for whatever interests you, for toys, gadgets, recipes, DIY, and just about anything you can imagine.Starting is easy; create an account with multiple boards depending on your interests. Then search all of Pinterest and find unique things you could pin on your board/s. They can be in the form of photos, videos, or even animations that could be linked to other websites. You can also pin other people's things onto your board and create your very own customized scrapbook. It is no longer privately owned since Microsoft purchased the company for $26 billion in 2016. LinkedIn is the oldest of all the social media platforms out there since its foundation in 2003. We are talking about 20 years of existence, long before YouTube or Facebook emerged. This is the only social media platform specifically designed for professionals. This means you create a profile the way you do with other socials. However, you don't share personal stuff on that profile. You share your resume and work history instead, plus a professional headshot for your photo. This is because you can easily connect with other professionals who are there either to hire or look for work. Of course, you can still share articles, photos, and videos as long as you keep them professional and work-related.TikTok[caption id="attachment_11175" align="alignnone" width="1024"] TikTok serves as an all-in-one tool for brands to advertise on.[/caption]Then at number 4, we have TikTok, with over a billion active monthly users. The platform exploded on social media in 2020 and created TikTok superstars like Charli D'Amelio, Addison Rae, and Bella Poarch. TikTok took off in 2018 when it acquired Musical.ly, which had a similar design and where people created a lot of dance or lip-syncing videos. It's a social media platform for sharing short-form videos that began with 15-second videos, with 60 seconds being the maximum. TikTok came with photo and video templates as well. Mainly it was used for entertainment purposes, but entrepreneurs quickly picked up on its potential as a great marketing and advertising tool for building their brand and increasing their reach to their target audience.Instagram[caption id="attachment_11176" align="alignnone" width="1024"] Entrepreneurs use Instagram to drive brand awareness, boosting sales, and building and tracking audience engagement.[/caption]Then there's Instagram at number 3, with over 2 billion active monthly users. When it was created in 2010, it was merely a filtering and camera, but it has evolved into a colossal social media platform. 2010 was also the rise of amazing camera phones, so it was perfect timing. People took pictures to post on Instagram while using it as a filtering app. In 2012 Facebook purchased Instagram for over $1 billion.Ever since Facebook took over, it underwent a lot of significant updates. Gone are the days when it was just a filtering or photo-sharing app. Now people go live on the platform, sharing long or short-form videos. There's also Instagram Stories, where the photos and videos you posted will disappear after 24 hours, much like Snapchat. Then 15-second Instagram Reels were introduced to compete with TikTok. There was also IGTV so you could share videos longer than a minute, with a maximum of 60 minutes for selected accounts.YouTube[caption id="attachment_11177" align="alignnone" width="1024"] Brands can utilize YouTube to address customer queries, promote brand messages, and more.[/caption]At number 2, we have YouTube, with over 2.6 billion active monthly users. It was one of the most popular social media platforms 2021 or any year for that matter. In 2020 entrepreneurs realized how much traffic they could get as business owners on TikTok but then realized that the audience wasn't loyal. This all changed with YouTube Shorts since not only is it driving growth to your YouTube channels, but with the latest algorithm updates, if somebody watches your Shorts, they will also be served your long-form content. This means, then, that you can attract and nurture your target audience all at once in a single platform. And lucky for those planning to start or already have a podcast since YouTube has a dedicated section for podcasts. Do not hesitate to post long-form videos on YouTube because they do not depreciate in value, even if it's been weeks, months, or years. People can always search and find you and your content. This is Evergreen content, unlike Instagram or TikTok, where content will eventually depreciate in a few days or weeks. Also, because you're making long-form videos, you can chop these up to create short-form clips that you can then distribute on TikTok or Instagram or repost on YouTube Shorts.Facebook[caption id="attachment_11178" align="alignnone" width="1024"] The Facebook business page is designed for brands wanting to promote products and services using links, status updates, photos, and videos.[/caption]So, what is the main social media platform? It's none other than Facebook, with over 2.9 billion active monthly users. It is a powerful platform regardless of the size or type of business you are in. Here you can reach more potential customers and grow your brand online by engaging in paid or organic marketing or both. Thus, it is highly recommended that you also create a professional Facebook business page. From a simple Facebook profile, the platform has added various features and now has a robust mobile app on iOS and Android. One is to use a tool like Google AdWords Keyword Planner. This will help you find popular keywords that people are searching for on YouTube.Another way to do keyword research is to simply think about what terms people might search for when looking for a video like yours. If you can come up with a few relevant keywords, you can include them in your video title and description so people can easily find your content.Once you've found some good keywords, make sure to use them throughout your video.4. Look up stats from other videosBy looking up stats from other videos, you can see what topics are popular and generate more views for your channel. To find these stats, simply go to YouTube and search for “CPM.” You'll see a list of videos that have been popular in the past week. Take a look at the titles and descriptions to get an idea of what people are looking for. Finally, tagging your videos with relevant keywords will help the YouTube algorithm surface your content to interested viewers.By following these best practices, you can ensure your videos are reaching the widest possible audience and generating the most ad revenue.6. Define KPIsAs a YouTuber and social media marketer, it's important to have a firm grasp of your Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Without understanding what KPIs are and how they can be used to measure success, it's impossible to create content that will truly resonate with your audience. So, what exactly are KPIs? KPIs are metrics that you can use to track and measure progress and success. When it comes to YouTube, some common KPIs include views, likes, comments, shares, and subscribers.7. Choose the right monetization strategy for each videoThere are a few things to consider when choosing the right monetization strategy. First, you need to think about the content of your video and whether it’s appropriate for ads. If your video isn’t appropriate for ads, you should consider using other strategies like affiliate links or product placements. Secondly, you need to consider your audience and what they’re most likely to click on. If your audience is mostly made up of children, you should avoid using strategies that require them to click on adult content. Finally, you need to test different strategies and see which ones work best for your videos.8. Monitor your progressContinuously monitoring your progress will help maximize your CPM. And in doing this, you should pay attention to your KPIs. First, take a look at your view count. This will give you an idea of how many people are watching your videos. If you notice a decline in views, you may need to change your content or promotional strategy. Another metric to keep an eye on is the number of likes and dislikes your videos are receiving. This can give you insights into what type of content your viewers prefer. If you notice that certain videos are getting more likes than others, try to produce similar content in the future. Finally, take a look at the comments section under each of your videos. If you aren’t getting a lot of comments, find ways to engage your audience more and make them talk about your video in the comment section. Get started by checking this Denim Social review. Factors That Affect YouTube CPMThe following factors can have an impact on your CPM for YouTube:Type of content you produceWhen it comes to YouTube, the type of content you produce can have an effect on your CPM. So, what types of content tend to have a higher CPM? Generally speaking, videos that are educational or informative in nature tend to do well. This is because advertisers are looking to reach an audience who’s interested in learning about new products or services. On the other hand, videos that are purely entertainment-focused may not do as well in terms of CPM. This is because these types of videos typically have a lower view-through rate, which means people are less likely to watch an ad all the way through. To create high-quality social media content, use a tool like the one in this Capssion review. Length of your videosWhile the average YouTuber might not think about it, the length of videos can have an effect on CPM. And while a longer video might mean more total views, it also means that ads will be running for a longer period of time, which can sometimes result in a lower CPM.For example, if a YouTuber has two videos, one that’s 10 minutes long and one that’s 5 minutes long, they might assume that the 10-minute video will earn them more money because it has the potential for more views. However, if both videos have the same number of views, the 5-minute video will actually generate a higher CPM because there are fewer opportunities for viewers to skip ads or leave the page entirely. What country your viewers are fromCountries with a higher GDP tend to have higher CPMs because advertisers are willing to pay more for ads that’ll be seen by people in those countries. So, if you have a lot of viewers from countries like the United States or Japan, you can expect to see higher CPMs than if you have viewers from less wealthy countries.Demographics of your viewersIt's no secret that the demographics of your audience can play a big role in how much money you make on YouTube. And while there are many factors that go into your overall CPM, understanding the demographics of your viewers is an important piece of the puzzle. So, what exactly do we mean when we talk about demographic data? Basically, it's any information that can be used to identify a particular group of people. This can include things like age, gender, income, and location. And when it comes to YouTube, this data can be incredibly valuable in terms of understanding who your viewers are and what they're interested in. With this knowledge, you can then tailor your content and marketing strategy to better appeal to these groups.Get the Most Out of Your YouTube VideosStatistics showing YouTube ads CPM benchmarks from 2018 to 2020. | Image Source: Store GrowersIf you want to calculate and boost your YouTube CPM, follow the steps outlined in this article. To begin, go to ads.google.com then click on Sign in. It's best to use the same Gmail login for both your YouTube channel and Google Ads account. Next, click on the New Google Ads Account button so it can create your account. Your Google Ads account will now present you with options. One of them is being able to connect your Google My Business account. If you have an existing YouTube video that you wish to run as an ad that's uploaded to your new YouTube account, select your video. It will then ask for your video's URL. However, if you don't have the video you need to run yet, select Your website then go through every single prompt pertaining to your business information. It may ask questions about your budget, or a different ad copy for this new Google Ads account. There's no need for you to use the options to run your current YouTube ad, but choose whatever you want on these prompts so you can move through the setup process. Only then can you create the ad you want to run on YouTube. Linking your Google Ad Account to Your YouTube ChannelYour Google Ads account is now set up, so the next thing you want to do is link your YouTube channel to this account you have just created. To do this, go to the Tools and Settings button found at the top-right and click on the Linked accounts option. When you see a YouTube channel, click Manage and Link. You will then see a blue + button to click on. You can type in your channel name, or simply paste your YouTube channel's URL. But if you signed in using the same Gmail account that you have for your YouTube channel, expect it to auto-populate. Choose the Video you Plan to Run as an AdGo to your YouTube channel and click on YouTube Studio found on the top-right, then click on Content. You can upload your video there, or look for the video that you want to run as your YouTube ad. You can choose to have this video Public, but it's better to have your ads unlisted so it won't show up on your channel. Then get a shareable link to paste the URL of this specific video to paste on your Google Ads account. Your Google Ad CampaignReturn to your Google Ads account then choose the Create New Campaign option. The next screen will ask you to select the goal you will use for this campaign. You can click on Create a campaign without guidance. Next, select the type of ad you would like to run as a YouTube ad, and in this case, it's Video. Next, it will give you the option to choose a campaign sub-type. You will decide where your ads will be shown. For this example, choose Custom video campaign then click on Continue. Select Ad SettingsConsistently monitor your views to see if you are reaching your target audienceTo select your ad settings, go through the prompts one by one. Choose the options that suit you best. Note that the campaign name must be related to your campaign's goal or the particular YouTube ad you're going to run. Only you will be able to see the name of your ad. You can use two options for your bid strategy. Either utilize the Cost per View or the CPM, which is the cost per thousand. For now, choose Maximum Cost Per View. Under Budget and Dates, you can choose a daily budget or the overall budget for your campaign. If you go for the overall campaign budget, you will need to put the start and end dates. However, if you choose the daily budget, there's no need to select any dates for that. For now, go for the daily budget. Your next option will be the Networks. There are three various options to choose from. YouTube search results will show your ads on the YouTube search results. While the YouTube videos option will show your ad inside YouTube videos. And finally, the Display Network allows your video to be shown on other platforms apart from YouTube. For this example, choose YouTube videos. Next, choose the country and location you want your ads to be shown, plus, the language you wish your ads to be shown in. Then you have the Inventory Type. For now, select the Standard Inventory option. Such options pertain to the type of content, and primarily sensitive content that your ads may appear inside or next to. The next option will be to exclude your ads from particular types of content. These can be live-streaming videos, games, or even embedded YouTube videos. If you don't want to exclude your ads from these content types, just go to the next prompt. You will also be given the option of adding a related video. This video below your own video ad is meant to give your ad more context. ConversionsYou have two options under the Conversions tab. If you already have one set up, select the option for choosing a conversion action for your ad campaign. Or, just leave it as the default. But since this is your first ad, you can leave the additional options to default. If you wish to run your ads on certain days of the week, or specific times of the day, so you can reach your audience at their optimum time or make the most out of your budget, you can experiment with these options. And to make life easier as a YouTube creator, check out our Social Aider review. Choose Your Target AudienceYouTube advertising won't be effective if you do not have the correct demographicsNext, create a name for your ad group, then move on to the audiences and placements for your advertisement. The first option that will pop up is your demographics. Check off the ages, genders, or income levels of your choice, or just leave them all selected. Then continue with these specific audiences on the next tab. Under the Audience segments tab, select the type of people you want to see your ad. Affinity audiences are related to things these people are interested in. Just remember that YouTube is the second biggest search engine in the world, with Google holding the number one spot. So they have a high level of data on people's interests. Affinity audiences are usually extremely accurate. But if you click on the Browse tab, you can see additional audience segments to choose from. Some will be based on your own business data. For this post, we won't select any of these audiences and target them based on placements. Next is the Content tab, which relates to the audiences you're. You can target based on topic, keyword, or placements. Placements tend to be a bit misleading as they pertain to people who are going to see your video ad, and not just where your ad will show up on the screen. You will have the option to choose specific YouTube videos or channels, or websites that these people have gone through. Choose Your Bidding Amount for YouTube AdvertisingNow, you need to go through the bidding section, which is where you will put the maximum amount of money you are willing to pay for a view of this video ad. A good starting point for most businesses would be $1. You won't typically pay one dollar per view, but that's enough wiggle room for the algorithm to show your ad to a bigger number of people without putting a limit on your reach. Creating Your Video AdDeciding whether to use skippable or non-skippable ads will depend on what works best for youTo create your video ad, select New Video Ad. For this example, you can do a skippable in-stream video. You can paste this URL from the specific video ad you will be running. Additional options are entering the destination, where you want the audience to be directed to when they click on your ad. They also give you about 10 characters for your call to action. For your headline, you have 15 characters, so be concise. You also have the URL or UTM parameters for adding to your specific ad. Then give your ad name then click Done. After going through all these options, click on the Create Campaign button. You have just created your first YouTube ad video. How Does Advertising on YouTube Work?Utilize your YouTube analytics to track your progressYou will know if your YouTube advertising efforts have paid off by analyzing your Video Ad performance. First, click Continue to Campaign. Here, you will see the ad group you have created. When you see a green dot on the left, this means your ad group is currently active. To your right, it must say Eligible. If your ad is not approved, you will see on the ad level a note, saying something like 'Rejected.' It could still be pending and being reviewed. You must wait for YouTube for approval before your ad starts running. However, this does not take very long. On this screen, you can see your number of users, your cost per view, link clicks, and your conversions. If you are tracking your conversions from YouTube Ads, there are a couple of ways for doing this. Conversions can be set up within Google Tag Manager. It is also possible to create a standalone landing page for your YouTube ads. In this way, you know the conversions that are coming from this page have resulted from your YouTube ads. A call tracking number could also be used if you want people to call your business from this ad itself. When your ad goes live, those analytics will begin rolling in. There are a few Instagram engagement tips to consider when it comes to timing your posts. For one, you need to think about your followers’ time zones. If you have a global audience, you’ll need to post at different times throughout the day to reach as many people as possible. Additionally, you should take into account what time of year it is and what events are happening. For example, if you’re a retailer that sells Christmas decorations, you’ll want to post about your products well before December arrives. Use High-Quality Photos One of the best ways how to increase engagement on Instagram for business is by using high-quality photos. However, not all photos are created equal. There are a few things you can do to make your photos stand out and help you get more engagement. The first thing to consider is the composition of your photo. Make sure you’re thinking about the rule of thirds when composing your photo. This will help you create a more interesting and visually appealing photo. Another thing to consider is lighting. Try to take your photos in natural light whenever possible. If you need to use artificial light, make sure it’s bright and doesn’t create harsh shadows. Finally, use a good quality camera. If you have an iPhone, there are a lot of great apps that can help you to improve the quality of your photos. Build Your Account Before Posting When you're starting out on Instagram, it can be difficult to get your account seen by more people. This will help people feel more inclined to follow you and see what you're all about. You should also make sure to post consistently and use relevant hashtags. Finally, you can use Instagram's advertising platform to reach even more people. Instagram Ads allow you to target specific demographics, interests, and even locations. So, if you want to grow your account quickly, using Instagram Ads is a great way to do it. Ask Questions in Quotes If you want to increase your Instagram engagements, try asking questions in quotes. This type of content is great for engaging with your followers and can help create a more interactive experience on the platform. Not only will this help increase interactions with your audience, but it can also help you to learn more about what they’re interested in. Asking questions is also a great way to start a conversation with your followers and get them involved in your brand. Use the Right Emojis [caption id="attachment_7548" align="aligncenter" width="1200"] If you want to use emojis on Instagram, you should use the ones that are most appropriate for your post.[/caption]When you’re sending a text, do you ever use emojis? Many people do, and there’s a reason why. Emojis make messages more interesting and can help increase engagement on social media platforms like Instagram. Here are three tips for using emojis to get more likes and comments:Know which emojis people respond to the most. Certain emojis tend to generate more reactions than others. The most popular emoji on Instagram is the “Face with Tears of Joy,” which is used in over 25% of all posts. Other popular emojis include hearts, kisses, and positive expressions like smiling faces. Use emojis that are relevant to your post. If you’re posting about your trip to Italy, for example, use the Italian flag emoji or the pizza emoji. Consider the tone of your post and use an emoji that matches it. If you’re posting something lighthearted, for instance, use a happy emoji.Tag Your Friends in Comments Tagging friends in your posts can help increase engagement on Instagram. Follow accounts that post photos and videos that are similar to the ones you post on your own account.Once you see an interesting post, leave a comment or like it. Responding to other users' posts shows that you're engaged with their content and encourages them to respond. There’s no definitive answer to whether a 3% engagement is good on Instagram. However, according to a study by Socialbakers, accounts with 3 or more posts per day have an average engagement rate of 4.73%. This means that if you want to increase your chances of having your posts seen and interacted with by users, posting more regularly may be the way to go. Additionally, another study conducted by Quintly found that accounts that post more than 10 times per day have an average engagement rate of only 2.7%. So, it would seem that posting too much can actually have a negative effect on your engagement rate. Ultimately, you should experiment a bit to see what works best for you and your brand. Is a 20% engagement rate on Instagram good? Evaluating how good an Instagram engagement rate is depends on who you ask and what their goals are in the platform. Generally, any engagement rate above 5% is considered good, but it really depends on your industry and the types of followers you have. So if you want to get engagement on your Instagram posts, consider including images of people.Another type of content that performs well on Instagram is branded content. All your marketing strategies will be ineffective if you don’t have any idea how their algorithm works. Here’s what you can do to be in their favor. Key TakeawaysSuccess on TikTok hinges on grasping its algorithm, which prioritizes content based on user interactions, video information, and device/account settings. To stand out, produce high-quality, authentic videos that resonate with your target audience. Utilize trending sounds, hashtags, and challenges to increase visibility.Regular posting keeps your audience engaged and signals to the algorithm that you're an active creator, potentially boosting your content's reach.Utilize features like Duet, Stitch, and Live to interact with other users and expand your content's reach. TikTok offers various monetization avenues, including the Creator Fund, brand partnerships, merchandise sales, and live gifts. Establish a unique style and voice that sets you apart, making your content recognizable and fostering a loyal following. How To Stand Out On Tiktok: TikTok Algorithm Hacks (Phases 1-4) [caption id="attachment_7380" align="alignnone" width="1024"] Understanding the TikTok algorithm is the first step to becoming a TikTok influencer[/caption]Do these easy hacks and make sure you implement these changes if you don't want the algorithm to work against you. There are two main goals of TikTok. One is to attract people to the platform, and the second is to make people stay on the platform. So that is your main role, and if you accomplish that, TikTok will reward you for it. Every time you post a video on TikTok it is first shown to a small number of people in the first phase. When they see that you meet their criteria, say for watch time and interactions, your video will be qualified for the second phase. Now in this next phase, a larger group of people will be shown and your video goes through the same process. If you meet the same criteria for interactions and watch time, your video will again be able to go to the third phase. And this will not be as daunting if you have a social media scheduler. Read our Mishu Guru review to know how to make life easier. The same process will take place in this phase but again, to a bigger group of people. Before it jumps to the fourth and final phase where it goes viral, something happens. It will not be an AI but a human being who will check your video to ensure your content adheres to the social media platform's policy. Only then will this turn into a viral video. So here’s what you do to get through phases 1-4. Add Keywords Add keywords to your videos. Keep in mind that the algorithm understands what your content is all about. They can then share it with other users who are also in that niche. This is crucial because when the algorithm finds people who are truly interested in your niche content, the higher the chances they will watch it until the end. Thus, you need to add related keywords to your videos. This is how brands, influencers, and content creators grow on this platform because this is how you generate followers and boost your views. Call To Action (CTA) How do you get a lot of attention on TikTok? You need to put a call to action in all of your videos if you intend to grow on TikTok. The algorithm tracks your video engagement, which means all its likes, follows, comments, shares, and saves. So the more interactions or engagements you have in your videos, the TikTok algorithm is more likely to pick up the message. The message that your content is worth sharing with a lot more people. If you keep doing this, the higher your chances of your video going viral. Your call to action may be directing users to your video's comment section where tons of info about your content can be found. You can also ask a question that is good news to TikTok's algorithm. Why? Because while viewers are reading the comments, the video is still in the background playing, which helps in boosting your video views. A better way however is to put your call to action at the start of your video. You may find it a bit weird but there's a good reason for it. If you're just starting and checking your analytics, you may notice that not everyone gets to the end of a video. Therefore, if you put your call to action at the end of the video, not everyone will be able to follow through. Add Hashtags When you're adding TikTok hashtags you're telling the algorithm what your content is all about, and to share it with the right type of people who are most likely to watch them until the end. The platform will then reward you by showing your content to more and more people who are into your particular niche. You're also doing your viewers a favor by making it super easy for them to find your videos through your hashtags. Also, spend some time doing your research and finding out the hashtags being used by the top viral videos on TikTok. If it works for them, it can work for you. Join The Community [caption id="attachment_7382" align="alignnone" width="1024"] No man is an island, so belong to a TikTok community to help you grow and flourish as an influencer[/caption]If your game plan merely consists of posting your video, doing some scrolling time, and then getting off TikTok, you ought to know—you're not going to make it. For those who wish to grow their brand, they must interact with other TikTok content creators apart from themselves. When TikTok sees this it will reward them for it. What you'd want to do is to follow profiles of those that are in your niche and even those who are not but are showing genuine interest in your videos. By doing this you'll be able to come up with more unique and out-of-the-box ideas. The more time you spend on TikTok, the more you get your creative juices flowing. Not only will you get inspiration to create something different outside your niche, but you will also be an active and valuable member of the community. So make it a habit to interact with other content creators and brands, and make sure your comments are sincere all the time. Phonies can be spotted a mile away. Don't like and share if you will never recommend or use the product, nor should you endorse anything that will jeopardize your brand. How To Stand Out On TikTok: Why Should You Want To? [caption id="attachment_7381" align="alignnone" width="1024"] Amazing TikTok traffic statistics according to Cloudflare[/caption]Up to this point, you may still be thinking, but how can I become TikTok famous quickly? Will these hacks work? Won't I be safer staying on my Instagram or YouTube social media platforms? The TikTok Marketing Statistics tell you otherwise. The thing is, something happens on TikTok where you only need a single video to go viral and your brand or business can explode at a snap of a finger. This may sound like a gross exaggeration, but this happens a thousand times a day, every day. You see it on posts, Facebook, or Instagram. This one person hits the perfect audience at the perfect time. All of a sudden they have generated 10,000 new customers. So from being a small pop-up store it turns into something massive overnight. TikTok managed to outpace Google in being the top 1 destination on the internet. There were more hits on TikTok compared to Google. This is according to a study by Cloudflare about the most popular domains in late 2021. This is the first time in history since Google’s launch. So if that doesn't prove anything, what does? How Much To Charge For TikTok Post [caption id="attachment_7379" align="alignnone" width="1024"] Value your brand and your efforts, but don't forget to give your clients their money's worth either[/caption]Alright, so in case you're now convinced that you should go on the TikTok bandwagon and be successful at it, how do you go about it? How do you make money via partnerships or sponsorships with brands and companies? Furthermore, is there such a thing as a TikTok money calculator to know how much to charge/earn? We’ll talk about all of that. But for now, we're going to discuss the different ways of reaching out to brands so you can start working with them. Regardless if you have a few hundred or thousands of followers, you can begin by learning a few important strategies. Allow Brands To Reach Out To You Here you did not make a pitch, you did not promote your brand or tell them what you can do for their company. Nothing. You just wait for them to come to you because you know (by checking your analytics) that your videos are doing great on TikTok. Be Part Of Influencer Platforms Another way to connect with brands is by becoming part of influencer marketing platforms. There are plenty of similar platforms to choose from. So find one that suits you, one you'll have successful collaborations with. Send Emails This one is another straightforward approach. All you have to do is send an email to the brand you wish to partner with. Do your research and make sure you know how to sell yourself, make your convincing power work! Also, make sure your email is readily seen in your TikTok profile so brands can easily reach you when they find your profile. When doing this you will need a media kit. A media kit is a presentation that shows your potential client the number of followers you have, how much engagement you get, or the demographics your brand caters to. This will also feature your type of content. Your type of content will ultimately determine if you are suited to this particular collaboration. On Charging Your Clients [caption id="attachment_7383" align="alignnone" width="1024"] Keep your client's loyalty by providing content that's worth their hard-earned money[/caption]Now for the exciting part, how much do you charge your client? Honestly, plenty of creators undercharge, when they ought to be charging more. It depends on how big the brand or the company you will be partnering with. Again, your analytics is your friend so don’t hesitate to use it. Also, conduct your research in your TikTok community so you have a good idea of how much to charge. Even if it’s just a ballpark figure. Some content creators who have over 45,000 followers charge around $800 for one TikTok video. Remember, however, that you should never be afraid to negotiate. You aim to have a higher quote because what usually happens is these brands come up with a lower offer. So in the end that's how you will decide on the entire cost of the collaboration. Be Authentic Be careful when doing collaborations. Money should not be your only motivation. Choose brands whom you truly feel a connection with. What is your reason for creating content for them? Is their brand really good, and are their products reliable? Or is it all hype? As mentioned earlier, phonies can be detected a mile away. People will know if you are veering away from your brand, from your authentic self, or your beliefs, all for the sake of money. This will be your downfall. If their products prove to be major rip-offs, you too will be dragged through the mud. So, be careful. FAQHow does the TikTok algorithm work? Understanding these can help tailor your content for better reach. What types of content perform well on TikTok? Merchandise Sales: Promote and sell your products directly to followers. Live Gifts: Receive virtual gifts from viewers during live streams, which can be converted into real money. How can I build a personal brand on TikTok? How do I engage with my audience effectively? It would be great if you could focus more on doing your passion and stop wasting too much time and energy figuring out the perfect social media strategy. Like having the ultimate guide to Twitter spaces 2022 and beyond, for instance?Good news: today we will discuss Twitter spaces best practices, crack into its algorithm and keep up with all the features of this social media platform. Let's get to it![caption id="attachment_7256" align="alignnone" width="1024"] Twitter is evolving, and so should you[/caption]I don't have Twitter spaces, so what do I do when I have those? There are several important things to remember so you don't end up wandering into an empty void. Start Your Space All Spaces are public, therefore, your presence and activities in Space are also public. However, accounts having protected Tweets will not be able to create a Space. Being the host will allow everyone to see you in the Space. This will include people who follow you, those who peek without really entering, plus developers accessing info about the Space utilizing the Twitter API. STEP 1: Long press on Tweet compose and tap on the new Spaces icon located on the far left. You can also tap on your profile image found at the top of your timeline. STEP 2: Find the options to NAME YOUR SPACE and START YOUR SPACE. STEP 3: If you wish to schedule a Space, tap SCHEDULE FOR LATER. Pick the date and time you wish to go live on Space. STEP 4: The moment Space starts, you as the host, may send requests to your listeners to become speakers. They can do this by tapping on the PEOPLE icon. Or, by tapping on the person's profile photo within a Space and then adding them to be a speaker. STEP 5: Live captions will appear automatically. Your listeners can choose to view these automated live captions (but there may be a few seconds delay). STEP 6: The Space is live until you decide to end it. Or if you are found to violate some Twitter Rules, the platform itself can end it. How Do I Get Invited to Twitter Spaces? [caption id="attachment_7257" align="alignnone" width="1024"] Be an expert who gives valuable advice on your chosen niche[/caption]You can request to become a speaker and speak with the host. Ten different people can also be speakers in any room and anyone could listen in. These aren't recorded conversations—they are live audio conversations happening in real-time. Promote Your Space Never forget to reach more people by Tweeting out the link of your Space once it begins. Tap on the SHARE icon to SHARE VIA A TWEET. You also have the option of pinning your Tweet announcement to your profile to boost your visibility. Keep A Steady Momentum Keep a steady momentum and utilize Tweets for facilitating conversations. Both speakers and hosts can pin a Tweet at the top of the Space to give added context to the topic being discussed. Have created Tweets to keep the conversation flowing. They can be queued up and ready for sharing. Make use of your Twitter Bookmarks so you'll have all your fave Tweets found in one place. Share Tweets so you can address your audience before starting the voice chat. In this way, your audience can easily respond and react. Recording and Playback Inevitably, some are not able to attend live Space. So you can simply record it and let them play it back anytime they want to. Toggle on RECORD SPACE. While you're recording, there will be a recording symbol that will pop up at the top, indicating that it is being recorded by the host. When it ends, you will be able to see how many people attended together with the link to share out through a Tweet. Reporting Someone on Space If you are the host or co-host, you have the option to mute, remove, block or report others in a Space. Once you block that participant, know that you will also block the account on Twitter. Thus, he or she cannot join a Space if you're the one who is hosting. To remove a member of the audience, tap on the profile picture within the Space, then tap BLOCK AND REMOVE. You can just also mute or remove the mic from these speakers. If you wish to mute a speaker in a live Space, tap on his or her profile photo. It will then pull up the options menu. You can then MUTE his or her MIC. Afterward, you will get an in-app notification letting you know this person has been muted. Now, here are some additional tips to maintain relevance and boost visibility on Twitter. Utilize Advanced Search [caption id="attachment_7258" align="alignnone" width="1024"] Know how to sell yourself in your niche on Twitter[/caption]This will help prevent information overload on your part because this will significantly cut down massive info coming the way that you don't need. Seasoned marketers know how to use this so they can come up with the best customer profile to fit their needs and specific niche. This works best for YouTubers or Twitch streamers. All you need to do is go over Twitter and do a basic search. After that, you can go over the right-hand side where you can find a link to start your advanced search. It's up to you now what criteria you will enter to find the specific info you're searching for. Go Live Are Twitter spaces successful? For those brave enough to do this regularly—yes! Many creators have a greater following on Twitter compared to their streaming or YouTube channels for instance. But the smart ones know how to utilize these and find ways to connect with their audience live on Twitter itself! This is probably one of the best tips you'll get about the guide to Twitter spaces 2022. By doing this you no longer have to convince people about clicking links or jumping to another platform. Now there's no need to sit through a bunch of advertisements (which could be a real bummer). You can simply go live and pop up in their feed. Do this by tapping on the compose button on your Twitter app just like when doing a regular tweet. Search for that little photo icon then tap it. Afterward, you will see on the bottom right your option to go live. Now you can easily put your stream title, share your live status, and even ask others to co-stream with you. Everyone who sees this on Twitter has the option to join and hang out with you and your followers. Chat and start a conversation. Anyone who sees your tweet can just tap and connect with you. Note though that this is not well optimized on your desktop and it's best to do this on your mobile device instead. Building this type of powerful connection on Twitter will more likely make them click links about you being live on YouTube or Twitch. This will simply skyrocket your chances by three folds! Use the Moments Feature Many people still have no idea this Twitter feature exists. Those who do know it's an amazing way for cataloging your content. It's like having an entire library of your Twitter clips that people can scroll through right away. Go to your desktop and on the left side of the menu select moments. Then select create a new moment. Now you can add tweets to your Moments. Do this by going through your profile or putting the URL directly. You also have the option to put tweets from your favorite creators. Like a list of the best streamers or YouTubers out there. The Media Studio Analytics Tool The next tip on our guide to Twitter spaces 2022 is the Media Studio. This will be beneficial to you, especially if you have already reached a thousand followers. It will open up an amazing analytics tool that a lot of people still don't know is available. On your desktop go to the left-hand side on the same menu you clicked on for creating moments. Then click insights and audience. The little chart will show you exactly when your followers are tuning in for videos on this social media platform. And we're not just referring to your video, but all kinds of videos, since they are typically peppered through user's timelines. This gives you a good idea when they're scrolling on their feeds. Use Lists Many people know about this feature but the majority are still not using this to leverage their social media presence. You can use the Lists to hack the Twitter algorithm. How? Every time you create a list, this transforms into its very own chronological feed of all the members. This lets you keep up with all the members and Twitter will not hide them away compared to what it does on your regular timeline. It's a nightmare when you're missing a few posts and don't have the time to engage consistently. What happens is you lose these people from your timeline and vice versa. You can only get back at them by searching their profiles manually and restart engaging via comments or DMs if you wish to bring them back to your circle. Lists save the day because you will no longer lose track of all these people. You also have the option to pin them on top of your feed. This way, once you log in, you can just go straight to your fave individuals and check out what they're up to. You also have the option of making your lists private if you don't want other people to have access to them. This will also prevent unnecessary drama within your inner circle. Use Topics [caption id="attachment_7259" align="alignnone" width="1024"] Value people's feedback and opinions if you wish to stay relevant[/caption]Twitter shows suggested topics in people's timelines. So you can follow such topics and get them regularly. This will then show you what tweets are trending in your specific niche. This is such a powerful tool for content creators big and small. For those who are just starting, utilize this to kickstart engagement so people will check out your profile. Needless to say, you need to pair this with valuable content. Not only can you create a community of your own, but also keep abreast with the top trending content relevant to your niche. This gives you the perfect opportunity to participate in conversations and add helpful comments that will engage others. Admittedly, this is riding off of that popularity. But remember that for this to work, never try to upstage the person who created the original post. Join the conversation, don't take over it as this is such a big turn-off. You can also get your tweets to integrate into these trending topics by following them and noticing patterns. What subjects or keywords are often talked about? Then you can start working on this to make organic content. But try to make it as natural as possible and not feel forced or attention-hungry. You may also need to use content calendar apps for this. Not everyone can pull this off and if you fall flat on your face, it will not hurt only you but possibly your entire community as well. Want to boost your social media marketing? How Instagram Algorithm Works: A Social Media Marketing Guide
Instagram updated its algorithm—again! And if you fail to adjust your current marketing strategy you will surely suffer a massive hit. We're talking about the number of people your content will reach as well as the number of new Instagram followers you will be attracting. People are complaining left and right, wondering why their reach, engagement, and followers are going down. This is because they don't have a solid understanding of the important steps we're going to share in this post. We are going to learn how Instagram algorithm works to make sure your marketing strategy works. [caption id="attachment_7114" align="alignnone" width="1024"] Instagram Reel is the future[/caption]Changes need to be made in your Instagram posts right now. You need to understand what triggers Instagram algorithm if you wish to have any success at all. In this post, we’ll show you how to do just that. Key Takeaways: Instagram employs multiple algorithms tailored for different sections: Feed, Stories, Explore, and Reels, each prioritizing content based on user interactions and preferences. User engagement—likes, comments, shares, saves, and DMs—significantly influences content visibility across the platform. The platform values recency; newer posts are more likely to appear prominently in users' feeds. Strong relationships, indicated by frequent interactions with specific accounts, lead to higher content prioritization from those accounts. Reels and short-form videos are favored, offering greater reach and engagement opportunities. Utilizing features like Stories, polls, quizzes, and interactive stickers can boost engagement and algorithmic favor. Consistent posting schedules and varied content types (photos, videos, carousels) help maintain audience interest and algorithmic support.Reels and Carousels Right now all you need to be posting on Instagram are Reels and Carousels. Here's the hard truth about Instagram. It is after one very important goal, and that is to make money. Of course, it also wants to capture and share the world's most precious moments. To understand how Instagram algorithm works, you have to know that the platform's bottom line is more practical and capitalistic. This doesn't come as a surprise, and this is a known fact for content creators. It is a business after all, and what business doesn't want to make money? It does this through advertising. Therefore, Instagram needs two things to succeed. First, it needs advertisers. These are people who are willing to shell out, hundreds, even thousands of dollars to put their ads front and center to people. Next, it needs a target audience to watch these ads. This is paramount to making Instagram succeed. The longer periods you can keep people on the platform, the more ads to show, and the more money you can make. Precisely why Reels and Carousels should be your focus content right now. Reels and Carousels have, as of the moment, the highest engagement times, giving Instagram more time to show people more ads. On the contrary, this is the reason why single-image posts on feeds are having a difficult time succeeding. It's because it doesn't take long periods for viewers to consume. However, there is an exception to this, which we will get to in a bit. But if you're to choose between Reels and Carousels, the former wins, hands down. Not only because it has higher engagement, but because they are in the form of video. And as Instagram has said repeatedly, it is no longer a photo-sharing app. Video Is The Future Why is my Instagram reach so low, you ask? Because Instagram is no longer a photo-sharing app, according to Adam Mosseri himself, head of Instagram, we can now focus on ways of optimizing your Reels content to adapt to this updated algorithm. To do this you need to understand one of its most important metrics for Reels so you can ensure your content will go viral. We are talking about 100% watch time, as in your videos are being watched in their entirety. When analyzing video content, algorithms look at views, watch time, and AVD or average view duration. These sound similar, but they are not. It's important to know their differences not only to have huge success in this platform but also to know how to position yourself to capitalize on whatever new metric you need to optimize for. Views Simply put, these are the number of views your video gets. Sometimes they come in as auto-play, just like with Reels, or when you swipe through them. Other times you need to click them to play just like the majority of YouTube videos found on their homepage. Watch Time This pertains to the total amount of time people spend watching your video. It could be measured in minutes or seconds. Therefore, a 10-second Reel will never have over 10 seconds of watch time. AVD (Average View Duration) Finally, you have AVD or the average view duration. This is the total watch time of your video which will then be divided by the total number of times it was played, including replays. It's trying to find out how much of your video a person watched before scrolling to the next one. What does 100% mean? It means they watched the whole thing, which is great. 10% means they skipped off almost immediately, which is a bad sign. Loop and Get Watched Over and Over Again Knowing Instagram, this can change in the future. But for now, the platform is favoring shorter videos with AVDs being 100%. This is compared to longer videos that only have 20%-30% AVD. If you try and analyze it closely, this looks more like a hack instead of a long-term strategy, because again, based on experience, Instagram's algorithm can change entirely very quickly. For now, test Reels are shorter in length (not over 10 seconds). Your goal is to have them in a loop so that people watch them over and over again. You do that using a hook. This is a big idea that captures your audience's attention. Something that triggers a person's curiosity. So for your reels, it needs to be interesting, educational, entertaining, inspiring, or relevant to your target audience. The trick is putting your hook in the first line of the caption. The primary goal of your caption is to get people to spend enough time reading it for your video to play and loop in the background automatically. It may sound sneaky, but it's not, especially if you're giving great value and helping people. Thus, the more time they spend with you, the better. Instagram will now be able to see that your audience is looping your videos. Watching them over and over again. This is an amazing power signal indicating its need to be shared and shown to more people. The Rate of Revelation Here's another trick you may also want to try. It's called the Rate of Revelation. You can push your social content limits a little bit. Try for longer Reels running from 20 to 60 seconds. You see, one of the most effective ways of hooking people quickly while keeping them engaged while watching your content (regardless if it's a podcast, video, or blog post), is by increasing the pace and overall speed by which you deliver insights. Content having a slow rate of revelation takes an eternity to get into. They seem to be dragging for hours on end without really presenting anything fresh, which makes the audience feel stuck. Consequently, a fast rate of revelation consists of nonstop value with a steady stream of fresh and exciting information. This is delivered at a rate too quick to keep up with, which entails the person to watch it repeatedly, to ensure they did not miss out on anything. The Only Exception [caption id="attachment_7115" align="alignnone" width="1024"] The single-image post "exception"[/caption]Earlier we mentioned, "the exception" that's going to be announced about single-image posts. Instagram announced it will test a different way to display images on this platform, meaning they're going for tall images, as in 9x16 or vertical. Just like a reel, but this time, in the form of an image and not video. It's still in its early stages so we don't know whether or not this will stick around for long. The point is, that anytime a social platform like Instagram rolls out a new feature, they make sure to give it one big go. This is done to encourage new users to try them out and make sure enough people can see them for them to get significant and valid feedback. This is a great opportunity that you have to take advantage of. It's your chance to grab some market share from those who are still trying to figure things out or adapt to their strategy. But of course, another way to make sure you're taking advantage of this great opportunity is to make sure you have a solid Instagram marketing strategy set up. Here are some of them. Instagram Marketing Strategies to Go with the Algorithm It's not enough knowing how Instagram algorithm works. You need to come up with the right strategy to take full advantage of the platform. The following are some strategies to help you get started. Optimize Your Bio Sounds basic, don't you think? The thing is, common knowledge isn't necessarily common practice. That's why you must take a look at your Instagram bio to ensure it clearly shows what you do, why you do it, and who you do it for. Prioritize clarity over creativity because first impressions are crucial. Make it crystal clear what you do for whom and why they should follow you. What do you have to offer? Remember to put your CTA or call to action, which is your link in your bio, guiding people on what you want them to do next. Create A Plan for Your Brand [caption id="attachment_7117" align="alignnone" width="1024"] Create a crystal clear plan for the image of your brand on Instagram[/caption]Develop a plan for your brand by using consistency, clarity, and congruence. Consistency with your content and engagement. This means posting regularly and responding to DMs. Then there's clarity, which is making it very clear what you do and who you do it for. Tell them what kind of content you are into and what you provide. Also, make sure your brand guidelines and overall style have a consistent aesthetic or theme. Finally, is there congruence? This means what you say and do, and the posts you put out there work together and make sense. You can do this by having some simple yet established guidelines for your brand. This can be the colors you are going to use, the fonts, or the type of content. Your posting schedule, and frequency, among others. Use Hashtags Properly Do your research to find out what hashtags are both relevant and applicable to your brand, business, or industry, and most especially, your target market. What are the terms they are searching for? Test out various hashtags for you to tap into different trends, sentiments, and market segments. Micro-Influencer Marketing You can leverage this as people realize the impact of influencers. How they help drive revenue for the brands and businesses they promote. However, there is a smaller segment of the market you need to tap into and these are the micro-influencers. They are essentially those influencers with an audience you wish to tap into but on a smaller scale. These people are very niched and very specific in terms of the type of audience they have. And most probably, they have not been approached by big brands, meaning, you can get them at a lower price. Or you can strike a deal, an exchange deal. They may be willing to give you and your brand a shout-out in exchange for the products or services that you provide, and not necessarily monetary compensation Utilizing User-Generated Content [caption id="attachment_7116" align="alignnone" width="1024"] Keep your Instagram followers engaged, e.g., with interactive polls and surveys[/caption]For example, if you own a clothing company you can leverage images, stories, and videos of people wearing your clothes in various situations or scenic locations. Like if I create a swimwear deal for a specific person of a specific market, like people who love going to the beach, or island hopping. I will make sure people take photos or videos of them swimming or frolicking in the sand and send their content to me so I can showcase it on my Instagram. Network Properly—Never Spam People! [caption id="attachment_7118" align="alignnone" width="1024"] Network properly and never spam people on Instagram or any social media platform[/caption]Please introduce yourself without spamming people when you're sending them DMs. Comment on someone's post and send them a congratulatory message without appearing like someone who wants something in return in an instant. People can smell spammers a mile away. FAQ: How does Instagram determine what content to show in my Feed?Instagram considers factors like your activity (likes, comments), the popularity of posts, your relationship with the content creator, and the recency of posts to curate your Feed. Why are Reels important for engagement?Reels are prioritized by Instagram's algorithm due to their high engagement rates, offering creators increased visibility and reach. How can I improve my content's visibility on Instagram?Engage with your audience through interactive features, post consistently, use relevant hashtags and keywords, and encourage sharing of your content. Does the timing of my posts affect their performance?Yes, posting when your audience is most active can enhance engagement and visibility, as recency is a key factor in content ranking. How do direct messages influence the algorithm?Content shared via DMs indicates strong user interest, signaling to the algorithm that the content is valuable, which can boost its reach.Leverage On The Latest Instagram Algorithm Today How do I use the Instagram algorithm for my advantage? Psychology of Social Proof Marketing: How to Use It in Your Business
How do you convince your customers to buy? Marketing techniques have been evolving over the years, but one of the most effective ways to do so remains social proof marketing. It leverages your psychology to convince people to purchase your product or service. Read on to learn more about how you can use the psychology of social proof marketing to boost your business.Social proof marketing, also known as social media marketing, refers to the use of social media and other popular networks to spread your brand name and encourage people to purchase your products or services. Social proof is one of the most powerful methods you can use to market your business, but it’s also one of the most misunderstood. Many people believe that you need an enormous amount of followers to gain any kind of traction with your marketing. But in reality, all you need are two things: an interesting product or service and a sound strategy for how to get your target audience to pay attention to it. In this guide, you’ll learn all things about the psychology of social proof marketing and how to use it to your advantage when you market your business both online or offline. Key Takeaways Social proof helps people decide what to do based on others’ behavior. In marketing, it's used to build trust and influence buying decisions. Reviews and testimonials show customer satisfaction. Influencers sway their followers through endorsements. User-generated content (like photos or videos) acts as real-life proof. Expert approvals and certifications add credibility. Media mentions increase brand trust. High social media engagement signals popularity. Large customer numbers suggest reliability. Businesses should display reviews, collaborate with influencers, share user content, highlight media coverage, and show customer stats. What is Social Proof? [caption id="attachment_7083" align="aligncenter" width="1024"] When businesses say it, it's marketing. But when customers say it, it's social proof.[/caption]Social proof is a psychological principle that says people will be more likely to do something if they know other people are doing it. This is used in marketing, especially on social media and in advertising. Companies use social proof by getting celebrities or influencers to post something on social media and tagging their products, which can lead people who follow those accounts to buy their products. Social proof has been proven time and again as one of the most effective ways for companies to get consumers interested in buying a product. Who is Using Social Proof? Social proof is everywhere in everyday life. Have you ever found yourself wondering whether a store has customers when you’re considering going in? Have you watched how others react to a movie before seeing it for yourself? Or have you wondered how much traffic a business gets on its website after noticing that it has hundreds or thousands of followers? There are many other examples, but these serve as illustrative social proof marketing examples—we often look at others around us, see their actions, and then copy them. What are the 5 Types of Social Proof? Social proof can be beneficial or detrimental to you depending on how you use it in your business and in your marketing efforts. Below are the 5 types of social proof you need to know about and why each one matters to your business. Testimonials Testimonials are an excellent form of social proof that gives your audience a third-party opinion that your product or service is worth using. If a fan or follower feels they know you, they’re more likely to believe what other people say about you on social media. Offer free swag in exchange for customer reviews and testimonials—and don’t be afraid to ask for them! Just make sure it doesn’t sound like a hard sell when you do. Case Studies Case studies give you third-party validation for your product or service. They’re an easy way to demonstrate your product's value without bragging about your accomplishments or relying on self-testimonials. When possible, get testimonials from industry experts and customers who have especially high profiles (like CEOs, celebrities, and authors). This type of social proof will also help attract new customers because they’ll see that a big name is already using what you offer. Media Mentions [caption id="attachment_7079" align="aligncenter" width="1024"] Each media mention impacts your personal brand. So, make sure you establish how you want to be known.[/caption]Media mentions are simply any time your brand, business, product, or service is mentioned in a publication. If it’s covered in a newspaper, on a TV news segment, or even in a book—it’s media mentions. Reputation management professionals pay particularly close attention to media mentions because they reflect a public opinion about your brand and can affect sales, customer loyalty, and other vital metrics. Surveys/Poll Results This is a powerful form of social proof, particularly in online marketing. Ask your target audience questions via surveys and polls: how many times per week do you dine out? Or what kind of restaurants do you prefer? You can then use their responses in testimonials, press releases, and newsletters. To get the most out of your polls and surveys, aid it with a social media tool that supports online campaigns, such as the one in this Denim Social review. Awards The next time you’re trying to attract new clients, make sure you have at least a few awards or recognitions hanging on your wall. Awards are instant social proof—people who read your resume (or visit your website) will see that you’ve been recognized for some type of achievement and instantly want to work with you. What is Social Proof in Psychology? Social proof is when we take cues from others to help guide our behavior. These cues range from subtle ones that we’re not even aware of, like mimicking someone’s body language, all the way up to blatant signals that are so obvious they almost seem fake. Either way, social proof plays a big role in how people decide what’s right and wrong—whether it’s ethical or unethical. What is an Example of Social Proof in Marketing? Social proof helps assure potential customers that what they’re doing or buying is also being done or bought by others—which naturally makes them want to do it, too. Here are some social proof marketing examples you might want to adopt for your business. Humans do what other humans do The principle of social proof in marketing is behind some of history’s most memorable fads. The idea is that, if someone else is doing something, you’re more likely to do it, too. A great social proof example: look at how many people wear Crocs, or how often your friends share something on Facebook. It’s a powerful marketing tool because it makes people feel like they aren’t alone. Buyer behavior is contagious Customers are susceptible to social proof, which is a powerful psychological phenomenon. When you observe what other people are doing, you often want to do it, too. A study from Harvard professor Gerald Zaltman suggests that up to 95% of all purchasing decisions are made based on social proof. Again, the logic is if others are doing it, you'd also want to try it. Humans love being part of a crowd. Influencers are important [caption id="attachment_7077" align="aligncenter" width="1024"] True influence is about leveraging authenticity.[/caption]Word-of-mouth advertising is still one of today’s most powerful marketing tools. The key to great word-of-mouth, though, is having a product or service that people actually like and are willing to talk about. Research shows that over half of all purchases are influenced by social media and user reviews. That makes influencers an important factor for marketers to consider when building a brand strategy. The concept of collective intelligence In 1955, researcher Francis Galton noticed that when several people independently answer a question, their average answer is more accurate than any individual could be. In 1981, he coined a term for it: The Wisdom of Crowds. While we’ve known about social proof for some time now, collective intelligence is something you can specifically capitalize on by harnessing your audience’s expertise to spread awareness about your product or service. Clickbait articles are effective Many people automatically close an ad or pop-up that’s obviously trying to sell them something, so don’t try to be subtle. This is particularly true if you’re promoting your business with social media or email marketing. The more direct you are about your offer, and what you expect people to do next, the more likely they are to take action on it. So, make sure to create effective clickbait articles. Customers want to be successful When you display social proof, you’re not only showing off your popularity—you’re also sending a message to consumers that they should be confident in their purchase. By displaying testimonials and case studies, you’re creating a positive experience for your consumer. You’re giving them confidence that what they buy from you will work for them, too. Consumers want to be successful, so let them know how easy it can be. Liking, favoriting, and commenting make customers want to buy According to statistics by Oberlo, people who say they liked a product on Facebook are 86% more likely to buy it. Moreover, Instagram users who commented on or liked a photo were 25% more likely to follow through with a purchase than those who didn’t. In short, people trust social proof, especially when it comes from their peers. Gating your content gives users a sense of exclusivity Want to get people to do something? Make them feel special. In marketing, one way you can do this is by gating content. By getting them to sign up for your email list or watch a video, users will often think they’re joining an exclusive club—one that other people want to be a part of and where they’ll get content before anyone else. It also makes them feel smart for having found something special, leading them to feel like joining in and participating themselves. Why is Social Proof Effective in Marketing? Social proof is a marketing concept that suggests our actions are based on what we believe are other people’s actions. It can be applied to almost every aspect of your business and used in many different ways. Whether you’re trying to get customers to sign up for a mailing list, download an e-book, or purchase a product, social proof can help you boost your conversion rates by making customers feel like their decision is validated by what others have done before them. There are two main types of social proof marketing: explicit and implicit (or indirect). Explicit social proof includes testimonials from happy customers and reviews from credible sources, such as publications or organizations. On the other hand, implicit social proof comes from subtle cues that suggest other people have already taken action and found success with your business. Why Consumers Turn to Social Proof [caption id="attachment_7078" align="aligncenter" width="1024"] Word of mouth is very powerful. So, build a great experience and make customers tell each other about your brand.[/caption]Social proof is an important concept in marketing because it explains why consumers turn to their peers for advice when making buying decisions. Social proof can be found in so many places, including social media and product reviews on retail websites. The idea behind social proof is that if other people are doing something, it must be okay or even desirable. When you see signs that someone else uses or likes a certain product, you're more likely to feel better about using or liking that product, too. This is called peer influence—and is basically the reason why more and more consumers are turning to social proof. Tips for Creating Your Own Form of Social Proof You may not always rely on third-party websites to add social proof to your own. However, you can use several methods on your website to add this type of credibility to your product or service. With these 3 tips, you can attract new customers and help build trust with current ones in no time. Add audience comments When your business is new, there’s no way to know if people are visiting your website or social media pages. Having an established community commenting on and interacting with your posts is one of the best ways to increase traffic and reach. You don’t need hundreds of comments to gain credibility. In fact, it may even work against you if you have too many right away. Put a call to action Call to Actions or CTAs are an integral part of any website because it allows your users to take action. Whether that’s filling out a contact form, subscribing to a mailing list, or purchasing a product, every site needs CTAs for success. Without them, your potential leads may be unaware of what you want them to do next. Add quotes from influencers Getting quotes from key influencers within your field is a great way to add social proof to your brand. This will also get people talking about you. Since its humble beginnings as a basic online bulletin board system in 2005, Reddit has grown into one of the web’s most comprehensive sites with thousands of topics and millions of users. You can find anything on Reddit, from celebrity Q&As to tutorials on using Linux. But what really sets Reddit apart is its emphasis on user-created content. You can easily contribute something new and interesting to just about any topic imaginable. Video sharing also works great on Reddit, not to mention it’s one of the most convenient platforms to search, view, and share videos. Why Reddit is Different from YouTube Although Reddit looks and feels a lot like YouTube, it’s not actually designed to host video. Instead, users can upvote or downvote submissions so that good content rises to the top and irrelevant content is banished forever. Users can also create their own subreddits, which means people who are passionate about a certain topic can gather together online. Say r/Wine if you’re into wine, or r/UpliftingNews if you want daily encouragement. Some of these sections have grown so large that they actually have moderators as well. Another cool feature of Reddit is how every post has comments from other users below it. How Do I Watch Videos on Reddit? [caption id="attachment_7049" align="aligncenter" width="1024"] With nearly 1 million uploaded videos on Reddit today, it can be exciting for users to explore different types of content on the platform.[/caption]Reddit has a built-in video player. The service pulls from a huge list of subreddits, which are basically user-created channels with content based on a specific interest or theme. Each subreddit is moderated by volunteers and can be visited directly by anyone on the platform. This means that anyone can create their own subreddit, and many do. In fact, there’s even one called r/videos where you can watch videos submitted by Reddit users—and yes, it’s as simple as it sounds. Here’s a guide to Reddit videos, particularly in watching: Go to r/videos using your desktop browser (or any other way you want). On mobile devices, just open up Reddit in general and tap on r/videos when you see it at the top of your feed. You should see a screen prompting you on Reddit’s r/videos page. From here, just tap on any video thumbnail to start watching! Tap again if you want to stop watchingYou see, streaming videos on Reddit is pretty simple. Whether you’re watching from your desktop or mobile, you can watch any video anytime as long as you have a good internet connection. Is It Safe to Watch Videos on Reddit? The Reddit video player (often referred to as Reddit TV) is simple to use, but it does have its quirks. First, videos are only available on the desktop—there’s no native mobile app. Also, while you can upload your own videos or search Reddit by text (instead of typing a specific subreddit name), Reddit mostly functions as a list of hyperlinks that open in new tabs. Additionally, the question lies on whether it’s safe to watch videos on Reddit. The answer is YES. The platform is an American social news aggregation, web content rating, and discussion website. You can’t do actions on the platform, such as upvoting and downvoting if you’re not a registered community member. Reddit also reviews every video submission before posting it officially on the platform. With this, users can guarantee that the videos they watch are Reddit-approved and adhere to the company’s guidelines. If you want safer browsing and streaming, you can always use a VPN (Virtual Private Network). Can I Use Videos from Reddit? [caption id="attachment_7047" align="aligncenter" width="1024"] Watching videos may not be enough. Hence, we give you foolproof techniques to download videos on Reddit.[/caption]The plain answer is YES. To use or download videos from Reddit, you'll want to use a dedicated app designed for downloading videos from Reddit. For example, VidPot is an excellent option and offers a freemium model that lets you download 10 videos a day without paying anything. However, if you're interested in more features or unlimited downloads—and don't mind paying—you'll be happy with KeepVid Pro. This is one of the favorite paid solutions for most users who want to download videos from Reddit. You can also search Google Play or iTunes for free alternatives but there isn’t any guarantee on their reliability and performance. In short, most apps are fine to use but we'd recommend against trusting any free app with your downloads How Do Beginners Use Reddit? Reddit is one of, if not the best place on Earth to learn new things. You may not be familiar with the platform, but that doesn’t mean you can’t learn to use it quickly and effectively. Here’s how to use Reddit app, regardless if you’re brand new to the site. Choosing a Subreddit You’ll be amazed at how many subreddits there are on Reddit—over 2 million! So when you first start out, it might seem like a daunting task to figure out which ones will be most helpful to you. The good news is that anyone can create a subreddit for any topic imaginable. So even if you don’t find what you need in the default list of subreddits, chances are someone has created one around your interests. Commenting on Posts The main way to communicate with other people who use Reddit is by commenting on their posts. When you find something on a website that you like, click, comment, and add your two cents. Make sure that your comments are valuable, and be nice. Upvoting and Downvoting Users can upvote or downvote any given piece of content. While most people believe that a post’s score is entirely dependent on how many people upvote it, a post’s score is also affected by how many people downvote it. A post with thousands of downvotes will be much lower than one with only a few hundred—even if thousands more users upvoted it. This system incentivizes users to vote based on quality, not opinion. Following Your Interests Find a few topics you’re passionate about and dive into them. We’d recommend looking at subreddits before deciding on your main area of interest. Some subreddits to check out are /r/movies, /r/documentaries, and /r/startups. The /r/learnprogramming Subreddit This is a subreddit where people are constantly asking questions about how to get started learning a programming language. If you know how to code, try answering some of these queries and directing those who might be interested in learning programming with specific advice and resources. If you’re looking for beginner-friendly subreddits, check out /r/beginnerprogramming, /r/learnjava, /r/learnpython and /r/learnvisualstudio. How to Post Videos on Reddit Mobile [caption id="attachment_7051" align="aligncenter" width="1024"] Uploading a video online is just as tricky as creating one. You need to strategize how to make your content visible to thousands if not millions of users.[/caption]So you want to post videos on Reddit mobile but don’t know how? Here are some helpful steps to get started. Go to your profile From your profile, you can share links, text posts, videos, and more. On mobile devices and desktops alike, find a link or type of content you’d like to share and tap or click it. Click the Post button (it's right above your username) As soon as you click it, a box will pop up that asks what kind of link you'd like to post. Click Video. Then, search for a video on YouTube. Once you've found one, click it and select Open in App. This will automatically upload your video directly onto Reddit with all of its necessary tags already attached. Then, add a comment and press Save (you can't post without first making a comment). Now just sit back and wait for positive results to roll in! You can also use a tool like the one in this Vyrill review to gain insights about your video on Reddit. Upload a video Click Submit a new link and upload your video file. This will prompt you to add a title, tags, and a description. Fill these out as best you can—the more accurate you are here, especially with tags, the better chance your video has of going viral! Don’t forget to post links in relevant subreddits where your content fits. Edit the headline (optional) If you really want your video to get many upvotes, editing its title might help. Reddit titles are limited to 50 characters. If you can’t summarize your video in that amount of space, you should consider reworking it or writing a longer description. On mobile, tapping on a headline will take users to an edit screen where they can add or remove text. Add your link/text/comments in the post body field The most important feature of Reddit's mobile app is its voting mechanism. If a link or comment receives enough votes, it will reach #1 and receive hundreds if not thousands of views. To post a video, simply navigate to r/videos and click Submit Link in one of your subreddits. Select who you want to see this post (Friends, Everyone, Mod Only, etc.) This controls who sees your post. Think carefully before posting. If you don’t select an option, only friends will see it. Otherwise, if you choose everyone or mod only, there’s a chance your post will be removed by a moderator for violating a rule of Reddit. The moderators also check every single submission before approving it and removing spam. Therefore, posts that aren’t allowed are deleted automatically as well. Hit the orange Submit button and wait for positive results! To post content to a subreddit, you must first subscribe to it. Subreddits are tied together with an orange plus button that reads subscribe when clicked (and unsubscribe if you’re already subscribed). The Subscribe button will take you directly to a list of all of your subreddits. Each subreddit has its unique design and rules, so depending on what it is you want to post, be sure you know which one is best suited to that type of content. Use a third-party app If you don’t want to use Reddit’s native video uploader, you can always download and install a third-party app from outside of Google Play or iTunes. If you want your video to show up in /r/videos, one of the largest subreddit communities with over 25 million subscribers, use Imgur or Streamable. On the other hand, you can also use a tool to create eye-catching videos and share them across different platforms simultaneously, including Reddit.
