Who is Clash of Clans?
Clash of Clans is a strategy mobile video game by the Finnish game developer Supercell. The developer released the game for iOS devices on August 2, 2012, and Google Play on October 7, 2013.
COC's developer is also the company behind other popular games, including Brawl Stars and Hay Day. It took Supercell six months to develop the game, with very few changes over the development's course.
The game's setting is a fantasy-themed world, with the player as the village's chief. The game tasks players to create their own villages through the resources they gain from attacking other villages, earning rewards, buying through raid medals, or producing their own.
Game players may join together to form a group of 30 to 50 people and participate in Clan Wars, chat with each other, or donate and receive troops. Furthermore, players may upgrade or acquire in-game assets through the game's currency or resources. COC currently has eight resources -- gold, elixir, dark elixir, gems, builder gold, capital gold, and raid medals.
Supercell also developed four spin-off games -- Clash Royale, Clash Quest, Clash Mini, and Clash Heroes. However, the developer discontinued Clash Quest's development on August 17, 2022.
The game rose to popularity in a short period, and multiple gaming influencers produced Clash of Clans content. Today, the game has 19.7M subscribers on YouTube, 20M likes on Facebook, 5.7M followers on Instagram, 4.3M on Twitter, and 1.2M on TikTok.
