Who is Jackie Aina?
Jacquelyn Lonje Olayiwola Oyeshola Bolayemi Aina, popularly known as Jackie Aina, is an American social media influencer in the beauty niche. Aina is born to a Nigerian father and an African-American mother, so she strongly advocates for people of color in the makeup and beauty industry.
After two years in college, Aina joined the US Army Reserve and started vlogging. After a year in the Reserve, she launched her YouTube channel. She initially filmed content as her way of coping with the stresses of an unhappy marriage but later discovered her knack for makeup.
Aina was often told the makeup trends don't often suit her skin complexion. Hence, she started using her platform to create content on looks and makeup products that work for everyone.
The beauty influencer argues there is only very little representation of people of color in the beauty industry, as seen in the limited makeup shade ranges. While her criticism compromised some of her brand partnerships, Aina is resolute in her cause for inclusivity.
Fortunately, several brands heard and collaborated with her to produce wide shade ranges, especially for people with dark complexions. Well-known makeup brand Too Faced tapped her to expand the shades of its Born This Way foundation line.

Too Faced: Born This Way Foundation Line
OG makeup brand Too Faced partnered with Aina to increase the shade range of its famous Born This Way foundation line. The line initially had 23 shades only, and after being called out by the influencer, the brand quickly apologized and collaborated with her for the expansion. They added 11 more shades, nine of which were co-developed by Aina. Today, the foundation line has a total of 35 diverse shades.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Eyeshadow Palette
Another household name in the beauty industry, Anastasia Beverly Hills, teamed up with Aina to produce a 14-shade eyeshadow palette that screams "glam, but bold!" all over it.
Elf Cosmetics: The J.Glow Eyeshadow Palette
Renowned drugstore makeup brand Elf Cosmetics collaborated with Aina to release the J.Glow eyeshadow palette. The eyeshadow palette has lesser shades than the one Aina produced with ABH. Nonetheless, it has five beautiful shades that anyone can rock for day or evening use.
